Thursday, February 26, 2015
During a festive evening in Groot-Bijgaarden - from 76 entries from dozens of Belgian graphic companies - the nominations were announced in 4 categories. Graphic Group Matthys received a nomination in the "Best Print" category with a series of specially printed greeting cards and a nomination in the "Best Design" category with an exclusively designed luxury folding carton packaging for saffron. The nomination in the "Best Design" category was converted into a victory in this category. At the end of the evening, the global winner of the Invercote Award 2015 was announced from the 4 category winners and goes to the Turnhout family company.
Graphical Group Matthys has been led since 2008 by the third generation, the 4 brothers Pascal, Erik, Filip and Davy Matthys.
This award is a crowning glory for the special productions made in Turnhout with the "inline cold foil / cold foil printing technique". With this innovative foil printing, the printing company realizes luxury graphic productions for customers throughout Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and France with foothills to Germany and Great Britain.
The printing company recently invested in a high-quality die-cutting machine and a complete folding-adhesive line for the internal finishing of eye-catching folding cardboard packaging.
The entry that made the jury decide to award the award to Graphic Group Matthys is an exclusive folding carton packaging for saffron. The design department of the printing company designed the packaging for the Dutch customer “Golden Result Saffron” and the production was carried out on Invercote cardboard with cold foil printing technology and soft touch lacquer finish.
The Invercote Award in Belgium is an initiative of the Swedish Iggesund and Igepa Belux
